Community Engagement

Community engagement includes providing more access to our campus for under-represented groups in the community by building pathways to connection and fostering a sense of belonging. Student Affairs works to build and sustain purposeful, mutual partnerships with Fort Worth communities utilizing the following programs and events. Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage (AAPI) History Month
The AAPI History Month pays tribute to the generations of Asian and Pacific Islanders who have enriched America’s history and are instrumental in its future success.

Every February, TCU joins people across the United States in celebrating the achievements and history of African Americans as part of Black History Month. It honors all Black people from all periods of U.S. history, from the enslaved people first brought over from Africa in the early 17th century to African Americans living in the United States today.

Frog Camp
TCU’s Frog Camp introduces incoming students to the TCU community. Students walk away from Frog Camp with new friends, faculty/staff resources and upper-division mentors. Participants also get an inside look at what it means to be a Horned Frog, learn TCU traditions, how to create an inclusive culture, and how to make a difference at TCU.

Hispanic Heritage Month
From September 15 to October 15, TCU celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month through speakers and activities. This month celebrates the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.

Juneteenth
TCU celebrates Juneteenth, which is on June 19 and is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Juneteenth celebrates June 19, 1865, the date on which enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally received the news they were free.
